DENTAC speaks to 4th grade about good dental hygiene

West Point Elementary School partnered with the U.S. Army Dental Activity (DENTAC) in February to celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month and teach students the importance of lifelong oral hygiene.

Dentists and dental assistants visited the school and spoke with students about keeping teeth and gums healthy. The interactive program included educational presentations and visual screenings that showed how proper brushing and flossing can prevent tooth decay.

“We are incredibly grateful to DENTAC for their continued partnership as we celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month,” said Jenn Jones, school nurse at West Point Elementary School. “They provided a fun, educational program and visual screenings during Dental Health Week. We thank them for helping West Point Elementary keep our smiles bright!”

West Point Elementary School Principal Angela Clouse thanked Jones for her leadership in organizing the visit.

“We would also like to extend a special thank you to Nurse Jones, whose leadership and coordination made this visit possible,” Clouse said. “Her efforts in organizing the event and fostering this valuable partnership with DENTAC ensured a meaningful and memorable experience for our students.”

The presentations reached second- and fourth-grade classrooms and reinforced West Point Elementary School’s commitment to student wellness through strong collaborations with military health partners.
