Literacy Night

Attention WPES Families:

You are invited to Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.  The event times are 4:30pm - 6:00pm.

The purpose of this event is to give families the opportunity to see Student-Centered Literacy in action at WPES.

Performances begin promptly at 4:40pm. Families should plan to be here at 4:30pm so students can be staged and ready to go.

After grade level performances (about 5:10pm), students will be dismissed to their families, and it is expected that students will remain with their families for the duration of the event. The students are the stars and are responsible for sharing their literacy work that is on display in and around their neighborhoods; this is called the "Gallery Walk". The learner's work that is displayed in the neighborhoods is the highlight of this Literacy Night event. 

There will be sessions to meet illustrators from our community, information tables, raffle prizes, literacy take-aways, and more.

Don't forget to wear purple to celebrate the last day of April and "The Month of the Military-Connected Child".
