The DoDEA Student Information System (DSIS) Family Portal will be unavailable from Wednesday, June 25 at 2:00 pm ET until Thursday, July 10 at 2:00 pm ET. Parents and students will not be able to access the system or register students during this time. Registration will resume when the system is reopened on July 10.
WPES fourth and fifth-grade students participated in a STEMtoSpace 2024 live virtual session featuring Major Victoria Garcia of Space Operations Command, Science Educator and CEO of the Planetary Society Bill Nye, and students from other DoDEA schools. This question-and-answer session offered rich discussions on innovative topics related to future STEM careers and the importance of the Space Force mission. Students practiced their speaking and listening ELA skills and took focused notes during the event. An epic highlight was Colonel Tyler Hauge addressing the students from the Space Station, sharing his perspective as a NASA astronaut!
