WPES "Library on Wheels" to Universal Pre-Kindergarten
Coming to you!

West Point Elementary is truly fortunate to have an amazing Information Center that provides both physical and virtual resources to our students; but some of you may be interested to know our Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) students also share in these valuable resources. Once a week, Ms. Leon leaves the Information Center pushing a cart through the halls, into the elevator, down the corridor, and into the UPK community.
Today is the day, we will exchange books by exploring the “Library on Wheels,” our mobile library. During these visits, Ms. Leon reads a story from our featured author study and students check out a book of their choice. So far, we have featured the following authors Mo Willems, Laura Numeroff, Kevin Henkes, Antoinette Portis and Ezra Jack Keats. As stated on the DoDEA website, the ultimate goal is to “foster a love of reading, curiosity and lifelong learning.”
