WPES Students Sharpen Math Skills with Special Visitors and a Fun Competition

WPES has been buzzing with excitement as students put their math skills to the test! This past week, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome the West Point Golf Team to our school. The cadets teamed up with students in grades K-5, using flashcards and interactive activities to reinforce essential math facts. The collaboration was inspiring, and we are deeply grateful for the time and effort the cadets dedicated to our students.

Adding to the excitement, students in grades 3-5 have kicked off an all-new 3’s Math Fact Competition! To help students master their multiplication, Carla Loy Song from the West Point Band created a special math chant designed to make learning the three times tables fun and engaging. Throughout the month, students will practice this catchy 3s Math Chant (you can join in at home).

 At the end of the month, our talented music teacher, Ms. Kessler, will judge the competition, determining which class has perfected the chant. The winning class will be rewarded with a delicious pizza party, generously provided by our amazing PTO!
